This paper examined the effects of occupational hazards on workers’ performance in Nigeria’s cement industry. Survey research method was employed in conducting the research: a structured questionnaire was designed and administered to one hundred and eighty-three (183) workers of Lafarge Cement Plant in Sagamu, Ogun State, Nigeria. The study revealed that the frequency level of occupational hazards had a significant influence on workers performance; a significant difference exist between performance levels of healthy workers to unhealthy workers; and that safe workers had high tendencies of performing on the job than workers who were unsafe at work in the cement industry. The study established the relevance of workers wellness and safety to workers commitment to duties as predictors of workers’ performance. The paper advocates the promotion of global standard occupational health and safety practices in Nigeria’s cement industry. Specifically, the study emphasises the importance of a healthy workforce and work system, and suggestions were presented for improved occupational health and safety systemsen_US
